Educational Services

Eau Claire Academy provides a comprehensive educational program. This program is designed to meet the special needs of adolescents who have been unable to achieve academically in other settings. All residents entering the Eau Claire Academy educational program receive a formal psycho-educational assessment by a school psychologist and multi-disciplinary team. The residents are placed in classrooms according to academic and therapeutic need.

Educational Services:
Students that are eligible have an opportunity to take part in a peer-tutoring program. Students participate in individualized academic instruction designed to meet their needs and abilities in the following areas:

• Mathematics
• Language Arts
• History
• Geography
• Health
• Literature
• Science
• English

Supplementary instruction is provided to all students in the following areas:

• Career Education/Computer Skills
• Social Skills
• Title I Reading and Math
• Physical Education
• Art
• Consumer Education
• Independent Living
• Music

Vocational Program:
Comprehensive vocational education enables students the opportunity to explore a variety of careers while developing post-high school and employment skills. This is accomplished through: on-campus job sites including housekeeping, food service, custodial, building grounds maintenance, and laundry. A self-paced vocational class covers job seeking skills, resume writing, and interviewing skills. Students receive their own occupational folder with information obtained in the class and on the job site.

Alternative Day School Program:
The goal of the Eau Claire Academy Day School Program is to provide an educational placement option for students with exceptional and unique needs. Students participate in individualized academic instruction designed to meet their needs and abilities in math, language arts, history, geography, health, literature, English, and science. Supplementary instruction is provided to all students in career education, social skills, Title I Reading and Math, physical education, art, and foods.
