Short-Term Treatment
Residents who are admitted for short-term treatment are prepared for a quick return to the community, with continuation of treatment intervention to occur on an out-patient basis. The Individual Treatment Plan focuses on:
• Transition preparation - behavioral
• Education transition
• Community services - receptivity and transition
The primary focus for the resident while in placement is to achieve behavioral stability so that the adolescent can successfully return to the community and benefit from out-patient treatment services. Areas that require more in-depth treatment are planned to be addressed in out-patient treatment services after discharge from the residential program. If a breakdown in this plan should occur, the resident can be considered for Intensive Treatment programming.
Length of Stay:
Short-term treatment is planned to occur within 30 to 90 days. Identification of the discharge resource occurs at the time of admission. Because of the brevity of treatment planning, residents who are admitted for a minimum of 90 days would benefit most from Intensive Treatment services, with a continued focus upon transitional services.
Treatment Approaches:
• Individual therapy
• Group therapy
• Case management
• Residential program
