Specific Treatment for Offenders Program (STOP)

Specific Treatment for Offenders Program (STOP) is designed for the intensive residential treatment of adolescent male sex offenders. The program is a cohesive closed unit operating apart from the general Academy population. Single room occupancy, alarmed doors, self-contained classrooms and higher staff to resident ratio increased structure and security. Daily group therapy and treatment assignments direct focus upon: victim empathy, understanding the "cycle of abuse", cognitive restructuring, and behavioral rebuilding.

Who will benefit from STOP ?
STOP is designed for adolescent males, between the ages of 10 and 18, who have been adjudicated with a sexual offense, or identified by the agency as needing sex offender treatment. Residents admitted for sex offender programming must also meet the requirements for placement at the Academy.
