Residential Treatment Worker (RTW) - Full-Time & Part-time Eau Claire Academy
Posted on: 9/15/2020
Responsibilities of a Residential Treatment Worker (RTW) include monitoring, supervising, and actively engaging youth, addressing behaviors and ensuring well-being. Much of the responsibility lies with maintaining the safe and stable structure set up on the unit. RTWs are vital to keeping youth engaged and active. It also includes intervening when youth have problems interacting with others and managing their emotions. All new employees participate in 40+ hours of training in the first 6 months of employment and are mentored for the first 80-160 hours (based on education) of employment. As a new employee you will learn vital tools to work with children, pre-teens, and tennagers. After the first year, all staff participate in 24+ hours per year of training as an ongoing employee.
We work with school schedules for employees who are in college. We have shifts Mon-Fri 7am-9:30 am (before the school day) and again 2:30pm-11:30pm (after the school day). RTWs also provide weekend coverage on our residential units. Weekend coverage hours are from 8am-11:30 pm, and shifts on the weekend can be anywhere from 8hrs to 13-14 hours in length depending on the needs. Starting pay for this position is $12.00 per hour. All RTWs are required to work every other weekend which can include Fri, Sat and Sun shifts. We compensate at a higher rate of pay on weekends with a weekend shift differential of $2.00/hour.
We also have a need for RTWs to cover overnight shifts. Overnight positions are every other weekend and two shifts during the week, plus on-call days. Overnight shifts start at 11pm and go to 9:30am. During the training period, we require overnight RTWs to work the 2nd shift (i.e., afternoon-evening) in order to obtain the necessary training hours to work alone on the unit on an overnight shift. It is also expected that new overnight hires attend trainings which are provided from 3-10pm and, occassionally, during the day starting at 9:30am.
Minimum requirements for these positions are as follows:
